- Is Skechers Friendship Walk 2023 a physical or virtual event?
- Skechers Friendship Walk 2023 is a physical event. The physical event is on 15 October 2023.
- What is the flag off time?
- The flag off time will be announced upon approval by the authorities.
- What happens if I could not complete my run within the qualifying time?
- All registrants will have to complete their run within the qualifying time. There are 2 different categories – 5KM walk and 10KM run. Each category has a different qualifying time, so ensure to choose wisely which category fits your pace best.

- 10KM : 2 hrs 30 min

- I have my own insurance, so do I still need to purchase the Group Personal Accident Insurance from the event?
- Yes, it is compulsory to purchase the Group Personal Accident Insurance (this is set by the Sports Commissioner Office of Malaysia)
- Can I register for both categories?
- Only one category per participant is allowed.
- Can members of a group register for different categories?
- Yes, members of a group can register for different categories.
- If one of my group members cannot make it on the event day, can he/she be replaced with another runner?
- No, participants are not allowed to substitute any group members. In the interest of the runners’ safety, the organiser strictly prohibits and strongly discourages the sale, exchange, and/or transfer of race entries, since each race bib contains the registered runner’s medical information and emergency contacts, which is important for medical teams to provide immediate medical assistance should an accident occur.
- Can I change my distance or category after I have completed my registration?
- Unfortunately, you are not allowed to change your distance or category upon completing your registration.
- How do I know if my registration is successful?
- Upon completion of registration, you will see a ‘success’ message on your screen and receive a confirmation email as well.
- I have registered but did not receive my confirmation email. What should I do?
- If you did not receive your confirmation email, please check your spam, junk, promotions and social folders, or any other tabs in your inbox. If it is not there, please email info@heyjom.com with your full name, IC / passport number and email address used for registration. Alternatively, you may also view your event on your HeyJom dashboard.
- Do I need to do a COVID-19 test before attending the event?
- It is not compulsory, but to keep yourself and others safe, you are encouraged to do a self-test before participating in the event.
- Do I need to be fully-vaccinated to participate in the event?
- Yes, you must be fully-vaccinated to participate in the event. Proof of vaccination will be required on the event day.
- Do I get a refund if I choose not to participate after completing my registration?
- No. Registration fees are strictly non-refundable.
- Can I collect my race kit after the 8 October 2023 if I forgot to do so during the race kit collection week on 7 or 8 October 2023?
- There will be NO collection allowed after the 8 October 2023, and there may be a late collection fee if anyone attemps to collect after the date.

- What do I need to produce to collect my Race Pack?
- A copy of your identification (both soft and hard copies are accepted)
- A copy of your confirmation slip (both soft and hard copies are accepted)
- When and where is the Race Entry Pack Collection?
- The Race Entry Pack Collection is on 7 and 8 October 2023. Venue is Level 1 Lalaport BBCC.
- Can I collect it for my family or friends?
- Yes, but you must have a copy of their IC (softcopy).
Terms and Conditions (T&Cs)
Please read all the terms and conditions ("Terms") carefully. Each individual who registers to participate in Skechers Friendship Walk 2023 ("the Event") (and, where applicable, in the case of a participant below the age of 18 years, the participant's parent, guardian or legal representative) ("Participant") declares and acknowledges to have read, understood and agreed to the Terms below and undertakes to comply with and be bound by the same.
- Skechers Friendship Walk 2023 ('Event') is held by Skechers Malaysia Sdn Bhd('Organiser').
- The Event will be held on 15 October 2023 ("Date"). The Organiser reserves the right to postpone or cancel the Event at any time.
- Eligibility:
- The Event is open to all and each participant attends the Event on his or her own free will. Age qualification will be taken as of Event Day.
- Participants must be aged 13 years old and above on Sunday, 15 October 2023 to participate in the 10KM run category.
- Participants must be aged 5 years old and above on Sunday 15 October 2023 to participate in the 5KM walk category.
- Participants of age 5 - 12 years old MUST be accompanied by at least ONE adult participant of 18 years old and above of the same category who will always be responsible for their safety.
- Prizes Winners:
- Winners must be personally present to collect their prizes after the walk upon the announcement of results. All uncollected prizes will be forfeited.
- The Organiser reserves the right to request for the winners’ identity card or passport for age verification.
- 10km cash prizes are open to Malaysian citizens and Permanent Residents (PR) only.
EVENT REGISTRATION
- By signing up for and providing any information, personal or otherwise, to gain access and to participate in the Event or any activities relating to the Event, the participant is deemed to have given express permission to the Organiser and Event partners and sponsors (if any) to use such personal information for marketing, statistical and planning purposes.
- By signing up for and providing any information, personal or otherwise, the participant agrees to provide his/her name and personal details to the insurance partner of the event for the purchase of Group Personal Accident Insurance (compulsory by the Sports Commissioner).
- The Organiser reserves the right to contact the participant from time to time by any means. Any notice sent to the email address registered with the Organiser shall be deemed as received by the participant.
- If a participant provides any information that is untrue, inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete, the Organiser may suspend or terminate the participant's registration and refuse any and all current or future use of any components of the Event. There will be no fee refund upon such suspension or termination of the participant's registration.
- The Organiser will not entertain or be in any way responsible for any disputes arising from incomplete or inaccurate Registration Data in the Event registration form completed by the participant.
- Once the participant’s registration has been duly processed, there will be no refund for any participant who does not eventually take part in the Event for whatever reason.
- All T-Shirt measurements are subject to 1cm +/- tolerance. Event tees sizes are while stocks last and first come, first served basis.
- All colour, design and material of merchandise are subject to change without notice.
- There will be no refund on registration fees if the Event is cancelled for reason of force majeure i.e., due to occurrence of incidents that are beyond the control of the Organiser (including but not limited to haze, storm, rain, inclement weather, wind, act of God, terrorism, or other conditions) and which in the Organiser's opinion, renders it impossible or unsafe to hold the Event.
EVENT PARTICIPATION
- The Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to any applicant under the age of 12 years old for the 5KM walk if there are no guardian/parent walk with the participants.
- Physical Bib will be given to the participants during the Entry Pack Collection. Bib is also compulsory to be always worn during the Event. Entry will be prohibited otherwise.
- While every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organiser to ensure the participants safety, participants attending the event are solely at their own risk and the Organiser will not be responsible or held liable for any injury or death however arising from training for, during or after participation in the Event. Participants are strongly encouraged to go for a medical examination and/or to consult their medical practitioner prior to registration and before the actual Event day.
- It is the sole responsibility of every participant to inform the medical staff/safety marshal of the session regarding any injury or reason that they cannot exercise.
- Should any participant feel fatigue, restless, or an injury at any time during or before the session, they must immediately inform the medical staff/safety marshal and refrain from joining the session.
- Participants must retire from the session immediately, if required to do so by any member of the official medical staff/safety marshal.
- The Organiser cannot be held responsible for lost, damaged or stolen property during the session.
- The Organiser reserves the right to amend the Rules and Regulations of the Event which will be reflected on the Event's Registration Platform and it is the responsibility of all the participants to keep abreast with any changes.
- The Organiser reserves the right to change the date, venue or to cancel the Event at any time without prior notice to the participants, in which case the Organiser will make every effort to inform the participants prior to the Date. If the Event must be cancelled, there shall be NO refund of fees and the Organiser shall not be liable for any other loss or inconvenience caused.
- The Organiser is not responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction, unauthorised access to, or alteration of user communications, or any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of email or traffic congestion on the internet and/or the Event's Official Website.
- Participants must ensure that they have read and understood the Personal Data Protection Notice on the collection, retention, use, disclosure and management of the Participant's personal data. By reading and agreeing to it, Participants agree to authorise and allow the Organiser and/or any of its subsidiary companies to collect, retain, use and disclose the Participant's personal data for the purposes mentioned in the Personal Data Protection Notice.
