Q: Is Guardian Fun Run 2023 a physical or virtual event?
A: Guardian Fun Run 2023 is a hybrid event. The physical event is on 23th September 2023 whereas the virtual event begins on 23th September until 30th September 2023.
Q: If I register for the physical run, do I still need to submit my run result on my Heyjom Dashboard?
A: No, only participants who registered for the virtual run are required to submit their results via Heyjom.
Q: What is the flag off time?
A: The flag off time will be announced upon approval by the authorities.
Q: What happens if I could not complete my run within the qualifying time?
A: All registrants will have to complete their run within the qualifying time. There are 2 different categories – 3KM and 5KM. Each category has different a qualifying time, so ensure to choose wisely which category fits your pace best.
Q: I have my own insurance, so do I still need to purchase the Group Personal Accident Insurance from the event?
A: Yes, it is compulsory to purchase the Group Personal Accident Insurance (this is set by the Sports Commissioner Office of Malaysia)
Q: Can I register for both categories?
A: Only one category per participant is allowed.
Q: Can members of a group register for different categories?
A: Yes, members of a group can register for different categories.
Q: If one of my group members cannot make it on the event day, can he/she be replaced with another runner?
A: No, participant are not allowed to substitute any group members. In the interest of the runners’ safety, the organizer strictly prohibits and strongly discourages the sale, exchange, and/or transfer of race entries, since each race bib contains the registered runner’s medical information and emergency contacts, which is important for medical teams to provide immediate medical assistance should an accident occur.
Q: Can I change my distance or category after I have completed my registration?
A: Unfortunately, you are not allowed to change your distance or category upon completing your registration.
Q: How do I know if my registration is successful?
A: Upon completion of registration, you will see a ‘success’ message on your screen and receive a confirmation email as well.
Q: I have registered but did not receive my confirmation email. What should I do?
A: If you did not receive your confirmation email, please check your spam, junk, promotions and social folders, or any other tabs in your inbox. If it is not there, please email info@heyjom.com with your full name, IC / passport number and email address used for registration. Alternatively, you may also view your event on your Heyjom dashboard.
Q: Do I need to do a COVID-19 test before attending the event?
A: It is not compulsory, but to keep yourself and others safe, you are encouraged to do a self-test before participating in the event.
Q: Do I need to be fully-vaccinated to participate in the event?
A: Yes, you must be fully-vaccinated to participate in the event. Proof of vaccination will be required on the event day.
Q: Do I get a refund if I choose not to participate after completing my registration?
A: No. Registration fees are strictly non-refundable.
Q: If I have kids/children below 4 years old, can I bring them to the event and run with me?
A: Yes, children of 4 years old and below can run for free under the supervision of their parents. However, this free admissions will not entitle them to any running tee or other event merchandise.
Q: Can I collect my race kit after the 17 September 2023 if I forgot to do so during the race kit collection week on 16 or 17 September 2023?
A: There will be no collection allowed after the 17 September 2023, and there may be a late collection fee if anyone attemps to collect after the date.
Virtual Run
Q: How do I submit my result?
A: To submit your results, go to your Dashboard on Heyjom (website or mobile app) and click on your Joined Event to submit your result. You will need to attach a screenshot of your virtual challenge, showing your distance, timing and running date.
Q: Is there any designated route? Do I need to follow the physical Guardian Fun Run 2023’s route?
A: No, you are not required to follow the designated Guardian Fun Run 2023 route, you may run from any location you choose, and at any time during the stipulated period. Run period is from 23 September - 30 September 2023.
Q: Is there a cut off time to complete my run?
A: There is no cut-off time for 5KM category. However, you are required to complete the full distance continuously in one attempt within the run period date.
Q: Can I complete my run on a treadmill or indoors?
A: No, you will need to run outdoors at a location with good GPS signal, as you are required to keep track of your run through a GPS running device or GPS running app.You can use Strava Apps, Nike Apps, Huawei Health, Samsung Health or any running apps to screenshot your run and submit the result into heyjom.
Q: Can I accumulate my running distance over multiple runs instead of completing my run in one attempt?
A: You are not allowed to accumulate the distance. The run has to be completed in one attempt. Therefore, we strongly advise you to carefully choose your running route based on the distance.
Q: If I could not finish my run, can you still send the entitlements to me?
A: You will not receive your finisher entitlement i.e., Dry Fit Event Tee, Finisher Medal & E-Bib if you did not complete the race or send in your completed race results.
Q: Will I receive the same goodies bag item as the physical event?
A: No, The value of the goodies bag for Virtual Run will differ in cost and items from the physical event.
